In 2005 BHG Brechtel GmbH got the contract of construction a collector well in the Netherlands. The site is located in a little village called Boerhaar pretty close to Wijhe, south of Zwolle.
The collector well will supply the water works with raw water which has to be cleand in a nanofiltration facility. Therefore it was necessary that the raw water had an extremely low sand / silt content. The aquifer there showed very fine sands. Under such conditiones the installation of screens with the "Preussag-Kiesmantel Method" was the only appropriate choice.
The shaft was 26 m deep and 5 laterals with lenght of 60 m each were installed.
The designed capacity of 350 cbm/h (appr. 2.2 MGD) was confirmed by the pumping test.
