RCW For River Bank Infiltration
|
During sinking of the shaft by a local contractor the prepared level of laterals unexpectedly was imbedded in a fine sand layer. The application of the planned Ranney Method for installing the laterals was no longer possible. Therefore the former project was stopped.
Ten years later, in spring 2002, the collector well had to be completed by installation of laterals.
BHG Brechtel GmbH (PST Spezialtiefbau GmbH respectively) got the contract to perform this work by useing the PREUSSAG Kiesmantel method.
New portals and 4 laterals with an artificially flushed in gravel pack were installed in the 25 m deep caisson.
